'Zimbabweans will not be deported'
Home Affairs has arranged an urgent meeting to clear up confusion with Zimbabweans following last week's announcement to document their status in the country.
On Thursday it was also announced that the special dispensation for Zimbabweans, implemented in April last year, would be withdrawn on December 31. Several NGOs then warned of an imminent mass deportation of Zimbabweans.
However, Home Affairs spokesman Ronnie Mamoepa said this would not be the case.
He said Zimbabwean nationals needed to present themselves at consulates or the embassy in South Africa to receive the required documentation.
