Ban Ki-Moon to attend signing of Congo peace agreement
UN Secretary General Ban Ki-Moon will attend the signing of a peace agreement for the Democratic Republic of the Congo and the region in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, on Sunday, the spokesperson for the secretary general announced on Thursday.
Ban will be present at the signing as a co-guarantor, accompanied by presidents or representatives of all 11 countries of the region signing the document.
The secretary general will also attend bilateral meetings with regional leaders.
Ban will travel from Ethiopia to the United Arab Emirates, Austria and Switzerland to hold discussions and participate in events in those countries.
