A white Zimbabwean farmer has been forcibly removed from his farm after police stormed the property to enforce a claim made by a British doctor.

According to The Telegraph, Phillip Rankin was first ordered off his tobacco farm last year following a claim for land made by Dr Sylvester Nyatsuro, who was born in Zimbabwe but now has British citizenship.

Police dug their way under the fence, banged on the door and told Rankin that they would force their way in if he did not open the door.

Rankin let the police in.

They took all his furniture outside the house and loaded it on to trucks.

Rankin prepared to leave but police dragged him from his vehicle, handcuffed him and drove him to a police station.

Rankin was later released and is now staying with relatives on a nearby farm.

Political sources in Harare suggested the doctor has family connections to Grace Mugabe.

Rankin didn't want to leave the farm before he could harvest the R6,863,648.94 tobacco crop he had planted.
