Mujuru claimed that her husband, who was regarded as the power broker in the southern African country, was shot dead before being burned inside his farmhouse.
Mujuru maintained that those in position of power in the southern African nation knew who had killed her husband, but were not willing to disclose that information to her.
Solomon perished in an unexplained inferno at his Beatrice Farm on August 15, 2011.
"There was a blue, blue flame, almost one and a half to two metres high, not normal at all. It seemed to me there was some kind of accelerant. I can’t say who did it, but they know the people in power. It will come out," Mujuru was quoted as saying.
Mujuru was kicked out of government in 2014 following accusations by First Lady Grace Mugabe that she was plotting to kill President Robert Mugabe so that she could take over the presidency.
After Grace's surprise nomination to lead the powerful women's wing of Zanu-PF, she went on a countrywide tour where she lambasted Mujuru, claiming that she was fanning factionalism within the party.
Mujuru reportedly hit back, saying that Mugabe depended on her to chair some meetings as he dozed off barely 15 minutes after a meeting had started.
She said that Mugabe, who she had always regarded as a father figure was "backward", adding that he was a "liar", as she had sought his reassurance after Grace's tirade against her.
Mujuru claimed that after the attacks by Grace she went to Mugabe telling him that the allegations were all fabrication, but the long-time ruler told her that he had received the information from the ministry of intelligence.
