Richard Branson turns 60
British entrepreneur Sir Richard Branson celebrates his 60th birthday.
He plans to mark his birthday by kite-surfing across the English Channel.
Branson is well known for his adventures too, including his attempts to go around the world in a hot air balloon with American Steve Fossett and his record-breaking Atlantic sailing in Virgin Atlantic Challenger II.
And if he successfully kite-surfs to France, he is set to become the oldest person to manage the feat.
Branson’s net worth is estimated at $4bn, thanks to a business empire spanning air travel, rail, healthcare, finance, telecommunications and entertainment.
