The utility has appointed Paul O'Flaherty as Eskom's new Finance Director, Dan Marokane as Managing Director (Primary Energy) and Bhabhalazi Bulunga as Managing Director (Human Resources).

O'Flaherty, whose appointment becomes effective from the beginning of January 2010, is currently chief financial officer at Al Naboodah Construction Group in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.

He joined Al Naboodah in July 2007 from the Johannesburg-based construction company Group Five where he spent a total of five years in a similar position and later as its deputy CEO.

Prior to joining Group Five he spent 14 years with PricewaterhouseCoopers (formerly Coopers and Lybrand) in various capacities and ultimately serving as South African Head of Mining and Energy Audit Group.

Marokane, who takes up his post from January 12 next year, has been with PetroSA for eleven years.

In March 2007 he was appointed to his current position as vice-president of the national oil company's operations division.

He is a Director of PetroSA Nigeria, PetroSA Europe and Brass Exploration, Nigeria.

Marokane is responsible for providing strategic leadership to the Gas-to-Liquids Refinery (GTL&R) in Mosselbay and the three Exploration and Production offshore units, namely the F-A gas platform, and the Orca and Glas Dowr oil production vessels.

Bulunga, who joins Eskom on with effect from the start of February 2010, is currently general manager of human resources at South African Airways (SAA).

He joined SAA in March 2007. Prior to that was employed by BHP Billiton in the position of human resources manager at Mozal in Mozambique and in October 2005 he was transferred to Richards Bay and appointed human resources manager for the Hillside and Bayside Smelters.

He remained in this position until February 2007.

Boy, they need it. The Board should resign though. I believe it is not Godsell or Maroga who caused the whole fiasco, but the members of the Board who want influence of the R300 Billion tenders to be disbursed in the next 3 years by Eskopm
