Enrique wows women waiting for his arrival
When his flight into the country was delayed by an hour, pop superstar Enrique Iglesias made eager women at the international arrivals door at Lanseria Airport wait a little longer.
One ground staff member at the Johannesburg airport said: "We've seen Leonardo Di Caprio, Andrea Bocelli, Paris Hilton, Rafael Nadal and John Travolta, but Enrique is the only one I've left the office for."
When the 35-year-old Hero singer emerged, he launched a charm offensive on journalists.
Iglesias is continuing his programme of touring South Africa every three years, after his 2004 and 2007 shows were sold out.
This time the Spanish singer is here to open the Champions League T20 cricket tournament, which begins tomorrow.
His collaboration with rapper Pitbull on the hit I Like It was chosen as the theme song for the tournament.
"We're pretty excited to be here. I think we're staying for two nights and we're going to watch one match - the opening one ," he said.
"I've seen it (cricket) on television, but not live. I can't play cricket unfortunately. I'm probably a bad cricket player."
Iglesias will perform at the Johannesburg Botanical Gardens in Emmarentia at 8pm tonight. Local act Locnville will also perform.
Despite rumours of their split, Iglesias and former tennis star Anna Kournikova are believed to still be together.
