Chat with Sisa Hewana of Isidingo

BONGIWE KHUMALO | 09 September, 2010 00:480 Comments

SISA Hewana, who won the Isidingo Search for Ace competition in March, has been gracing our screens as the sports presenter and playboy we love to hate.

Q: How did you adjust to the demands of your new acting job?

From the first day, I shot 10 to 12 scenes a day. I fed off the energy of my colleagues, who are an amazing bunch. I have learnt so much from them.

I used to learn my lines long in advance, but I soon realised that learning them the day before was better. Conversation has to be as natural as possible.

Q: How did you fit in with your new colleagues?

They made me feel at home from the first day.

Q: What's the best thing about being Ace?

He is a likeable character, a charmer and not apologetic about anything.

Ace is the guy that most guys dream of being because he is not scared of anything.

Q: Other projects?

I'm interested in film and I have written quite a lot.

Q: Your dream challenge?

To work with actor, playwright and director John Kani. I would have to deliver the performance of a lifetime.

Isidingo is on weekdays at 6.30pm on SABC3
