Socialite Khanyi Mbau has obtained a restraining order against her former sugar daddy, Theunis Crous, who has allegedly been stalking her.

The 23-year-old Mbau, who has been missing from the social scene since June, got an interim protection order against the 51-year-old at the Randburg Magistrate's Court yesterday.

Expected to be delivered to him today, it orders Crous "not to assault, threaten, intimidate, harass and not to verbally or emotionally abuse" Mbau.

She claimed in court papers that Crous had been threatening her in text messages and phone calls since their break-up seven months ago.

The order tells Crous not to contact Mbau via telephone, e-mail or sms.

"A peace officer will accompany the applicant to assist with arrangements regarding the collection of personal property belonging to the applicant," read the papers.

Crous, who is married, started an affair with Mbau late last year, spoiling her with a Lamborghini, a BMW and a trip to the Met in Cape Town, where they booked into the prestigious One&Only hotel after arriving in a Bentley.

Mbau told The Times she now "fears for her life because he refuses to leave me alone . The last straw was when I noticed he comes and parks at my residence in different cars, watching my every move. He even goes to places I have been, asking what I ate, what I bought."

Mbau said in court papers: "He would hit me with an open hand, send threatening smses and throw objects at me in public, with the last incident being on Thursday September 23."

During her interview with The Times, she received a stream of smses in which Crous threatened her.

But when The Times contacted Crous, he said Mbau was crazy.

"She is the violent one, not me. This woman is crazy, I feel so sorry for her," he said. "There are two sides of the story and if the papers say we are going to court in November, then you will see who's the violent one here."
