Foul-mouthed Zef music group Die Antwoord took the country and rock music capital of the world - Nashville, Tennessee - by storm when the band held a concert there earlier this month.

"In Nashville, my bra, the entire audience from the first song is doing all the words - all the Afrikaans words," said Dan Roberts, director of Terraplane, the company that produces the band.

"Hell, before the show, I walked past a kid that was doing a few verses of one of Ninja's raps - perfectly."

The trio - consisting of lead rapper Ninja, Yo-Landi Vi$$er and DJ Hi-Tek - were taken by surprise when they saw fans sporting tattoos of the famous "Zef" slogan.

They have posted pictures of these fans on their Facebook page.

International fans are shaving their heads in order to resemble the two lead members. And on Halloween people dressed up in their style and went trick-or-treating.

Since Die Antwoord shot to international fame in March this year, their Zef rap rave music has captured the imaginations of millions of fans.

Their Enter The Ninja music video has received more than 8-million hits since it was posted on YouTube in January. They also broke into the UK Top 40 chart and have played more than 80 gigs internationally since July.

Their debut album, $0$, released in South Africa through Rhythm Records, was released internationally by Interscope Records, publishers of US musicians Lady Gaga, Black Eyed Peas, Eminem, Dr. Dre and 50 Cent.

"$0$ is a very personal album, my blaar (leaf). It's about people stuck in a bad situation, people with no hope and no idea how to get out of there," said Ninja.

The group will be performing in Glasgow, Scotland today, after performing in Los Angeles, Hollywood, Detroit, Toronto, Germany, Texas, Houston and London.

On their return to South Africa in December they will perform four gigs.

Their fan page features 171000 fans from all over the world, many of them begging the group to perform in their countries.

"Please come destroy Australia," says Luke Anderson.

"Please come to Minnesota ... I really wanna see u guys live!" says Brian Russell.
