Canadian progressive, electro, and house producer deadmau5 has confirmed a South African tour through a video.

The video (below) shows scenes of one of his concerts to the backdrop of song Raise your Weapon and the words "The rumours are true... deadmau5 SA Tour 2011".

The rumours started around the beginning of September with people tweeting: "Is deadmau5 really gonna be in SA?"

Management company Three Six Zero Group's Dean Wilson then told Times LIVE "We are in talks but at this time no firm dates have been agreed."

But now, fans can get a taste of this Toronto-based electro hero.

He has worked alongside other DJs and producers, such as Kaskade, MC Flipside, Rob Swire of Pendulum, Skrillex, and Steve Duda.

deadmau5 is known for performing in a titular costume head, which resembles a mouse head. Not many fans have seen his face, and not at least in South Africa.

He has won Juno, International Dance Music and Beatport Music awards and was nominated for a Grammy in 2009.

The latest album, 4x4=12 is most likely to be featured in the tour, according to fans.
