Coldplay to stream Madrid concert

AFP Relaxnews | 11 October, 2011 07:31

English band Coldplay have announced plans to stream via YouTube a concert in Plaza de Toros de Las Ventas in Madrid on October 26.

Part of the American Express Unstaged series, the video will be filmed by award-winning filmmaker and photographer Anton Corbijn (Control, The American). Prior Unstaged events have paired acts such as Arcade Fire, John Legend and the Roots, and My Morning Jacket with directors Terry Gilliam, Todd Haynes, and Spike Lee.

According to the band's website, the live webcast will stream on Coldplay's Vevo page on YouTube at 10pm Spanish time/9pm UK time/4pm ET. Fans can tune in on their mobile devices via Vevo and YouTube apps for iPhone, iPod Touch, iPad, and Android.

Not all countries, however, can access the show. Included in the webcast are Argentina, Australia, Brazil, Canada, Czech Republic, France, Hong Kong, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Japan, Korean Republic, Mexico, Netherlands, New Zealand, Poland, Russia, South Africa, Spain, Taiwan, the UK and the US.

The band is releasing its 14-track fifth album, Mylo Xyloto, on October 24/25 in the UK/North America, and October 19 in Japan. The album will include the single "Every Teardrop Is a Waterfall" as well as a collaboration with Rihanna.

The seven-time Grammy winners have sold over 50 million records worldwide.
