Four-times Grammy Award winning rapper Lil Wayne's good behaviour on his tour of South Africa nearly went to waste, after rumours that he had been involved in a nightclub scuffle with a local rapper this weekend.

US entertainment gossip website Media Take Out reported at the weekend that "according to more than a dozen eye witnesses, rapper Lil Wayne got into a physical confrontation inside a Johannesburg club called Hush" with his lookalike rapper Young Nucho.

Nucho, who is part of African hip-hop outfit Sleek Note, is perhaps less known for his music and more for his romance with former Vuzu and O-Access presenter Nonhle Thema.

But with his dreadlocks, tattoos all over his body, his love for caps, sunglasses and his diminutive stature, Nucho easily left onlookers convinced that he was the American star.

According to Media Take Out, and rumours on social networking site Twitter, Lil Wayne, 29, "klapped" Young Nucho who traded extensively on his looks this week.

He has been spotted receiving adulation from fans who believed he was the US rapper.

But Melanie Ramjee, publicist for Hush, said yesterday that Lil Wayne, who is in his second year of his three-year probation, was not near her club on Saturday night, when the incident is said to have taken place.

"Lil Wayne and Drake were back at their hotels after the gig [at the Coca-Cola Dome this weekend].

"But the rest of the Young Money crew were at Hush, which is when they saw Young Nucho taking photos with girls and occupying the VIP area we had set aside for Lil Wayne in case he visited."

Lil Wayne's manager, Cortez Bryant, caught on to the chaos, and instructed club owner Stephan Cohen to remove the "impersonator" from the club, which was when the fight started.

Ramjee said: "He didn't get klapped, but maybe he should have."
