The 30 Plus Valentine's Central Splash pool party, scheduled to take place this Saturday, has been cancelled.

The event, which was for over 30s only, was to take place at the Central Country Lodge in Lonehill, northern Johannesburg, but a wall close to the swimming pool collapsed, deeming it unsafe for the event to be held there.

The wall collapse was due to "weather damage".

30 Plus Events' Adrian Taylor and Carole Herson said in a statement: "The venue is currently not declared secure for a public event after this structural damage, and repairs won’t be completed by tomorrow. We apologise for any inconvenience caused."

The statement goes on to say that those who purchased tickets have already been contacted and will receive a full refund as well as complimentary access to the next event organised by 30 Plus. 

"However, watch this space, as we will very soon announce a new 30 Plus event to make up for this unforeseen cancellation," read the statement.
