Tool fans have been getting anxious about when the next album is going to be released.
Earlier this year Tool’s guitarist, Adam Jones joked with fans that the band’s next album was complete followed by a “just kidding” but news agencies reported the jest as fact, according to Rolling Stone.
“The fans are pissed at us,” said Jones. “It’s time they understand what’s going on.”
The group released a statement refuting the claims and explained why the California rock band's album is not even close to completion.
"I don't write the music. They write the music," said frontman Maynard James Keenan of his bandmates. "I wait for them to bring music to me. They tend to go back over and over stuff. It's a long process."
It has been eight years since 10 000 Days was released but Jones said that one song was “pretty much done.” The band says that their new material is a little more on the heavy side. “There are some good nose-bleeding riffs happening, and I’m really happy about that,” said Jones.
