According to weekend reports, cast members of SABC 2's flagship soapie 'Muvhango' have not been paid for September.

The actors have reportedly threatened strike action if they are not paid on time. Muvhango publicist, Amanda Ngudle confirmed to several publications, including Sunday Times that the actors had not yet been paid for September.

Kaizer Kganyago, SABC spokeman said the public broadcaster would effect payment by 17 October and the actors should have cash deposited into their accounts by 18 October.

“We have intervened and we will launch an investigation to find out what caused the delay. We will make a payment to the production house early next week, thereafter they will be able to pay the cast,” he said.
