Young marketing leader lands spot on SA State Theatre board

Brand and marketing guru, Sylvester Chauke has become one of the youngest board members on the SA State Theatre board.

Chauke was appointed at the beginning of the year. The 33-year old is the Chief Architect (CEO) of DNA Brands and has represented Africa as a global leader at the World Economic Forum.

Chauke is also behind Bonang Matheba and her recent success as the face of Revlon and Woolworths campaign ambassador of lingerie line, Bonang for Distraction. His company, DNA Brands manages the media personality.

From being Nando’s Marketing Manager, to Director of Marketing and Communications at MTV Networks Africa, Chauke has proven his mettle in the creative industry. Of his appointment, he said it was an exciting one. Chauke will also sit as an advisor to the Department of Arts and Culture’s Africa Month celebration in May 2015.

The event will comprise of a variety of activities and learning opportunities across the African continent under the theme “ We are Africa” which aims to foster a strong and connected Africa brand.

“The African continent is experiencing an artistic and creative boom with the international community looking for inspiration from our colourful and energetic continent. I welcome this opportunity to work on African Month as we collaborate with our brothers and sisters across the continent to spread the message of an inspired and reimagined Africa – an Africa united and proud in its diversity," said Chauke.
