The Big Brother contestants who were evicted from the house following a sex incident two weeks ago are back in their respective homes.

Axola "Bexx" Mbengo, 26, from Queenstown, and Siyanda "Adams" Ngwenya, 24, from Estcourt, were booted out of the house and kept in a hotel for "debriefing and counselling".

Mbengo was allegedly sexually assaulted during the encounter in the Big Brother house.

While in the hotel, they could communicate with their families only by phone.

They were allowed to head home on Thursday.

"We view the incident in a serious light, and the wellbeing of the contestants remains of utmost importance," said M-Net chairwoman Yolisa Phahle.

"M-Net will co-operate with the police and continue to offer support to the contestants, should they require."

Video clips on the Big Brother website show the pair had been intimate with each other on several occasions. On the night of the incident that led to their expulsion, they were seen drinking and partying.

Speaking through his publicist, Victor Dlamini, Ngwenya said he was glad to be home because it was "where I've always been at my most comfortable and fulfilled ... I still miss Biggies house".

The struggling musician declined to discuss the events leading to his expulsion, but has returned to the social media world. "Thank you guys, so much love and support, I really appreciate it," he said in a Facebook post this week.

Mbengo declined to comment.
