'Blame it on Bollywood' producer Ashwin Gidwani praised South African entertainment talent, who he contracted to perform as part of his cast here in Johannesburg.
After watching those who auditioned, Gidwani and writer/director Bharat Dabholkar, decided to only bring the key cast members on tour, and hire local actors and dancers for The Teatro production at Montecasino, Johannesburg.
Musical Blame it on Bollywood is the humorous story of an elaborate Indian wedding starring well-known film and theatre actor Anant Mahadevan as the groom, Anchal Sabharwal as the bride-to-be and television/theatre personality Jayati Bhatia, as the bride’s mother, whilst the bride’s nerdy brother is played by Neil Gagdani.
