TV and radio personality Pearl Thusi and her co-host Phat Joe were last week suspended by the SABC over an on-air tirade about their Metro FM colleague Bonang Matheba.

According to a Sunday World report, the Metro FM duo were taken off air following a series of complaints from disgruntled listeners over what they deemed a sustained bashing of Queen B.

According to the tabloid, Thusi and Phat Joe, real name Majota Khambule, consistently mocked Matheba’s alleged controversial romantic relationship with rapper AKA on their weekly show The Real Phat Joe.

It is understood Metro FM bosses re-examined tapes of the previous shows following the complaints and resolved to take the pair off air.

SABC spokesperson Kaizer Kganyago confirmed the suspensions and said internal disciplinary proceedings will be undertaken.

Thusi’s manager Sarit Tomlinson told the paper they will have a meeting with the SABC bosses on Monday.

Thusi and Matheba apparently do not see eye to eye, according to the report.
