Zelda la Grange's 'Good Morning Mr Mandela' to become a movie

AFP Relaxnews | 23 February, 2016 10:43
South Africa's former President Nelson Mandela (L) leaving his office in Johannesburg with Mandela Rhodes Foundation spokeswoman Zelda la Grange after meeting some of the 23 post-graduate students of the 2008 Mandela Rhodes Scholars.

Nelson Mandela is set to be the focus of a new movie, adapted from the book "Good Morning, Mr. Mandela", written by his former assistant.

Maven Pictures and producer Jacqui Lewis have been lined up to bring Zelda La Grange's literary work about her friendship with the late South African president to the big screen, Deadline reports.

No further details regarding the casting have been released, but Maven co-founders Celine Rattray and Trudie Styler are also producing.

La Grange, who was first hired to work as a typist in Mandela's office in 1994, was promoted to the post of private secretary during his post-apartheid presidential rule, despite being a white Afrikaner.
