Case against man accused of hijacking Generations actor postponed

The court case against Nathi Lucky Msiza‚ the Mamelodi man facing charges in connection with the hijacking of Generations: The Legacy actor Rapulana Seiphemo‚ has been postponed until next month. Msiza's trial was expected to start on Thursday at the Pretoria Magistrate's Court‚ but the state asked for a postponement for further investigations by police.Rapulana Seiphemo accident investigation ongoingThe court postponed the matter until May 26 and ordered Msiza to return to custody.This will keep him at Pretoria Central Prison‚ which is commonly known as New Lock‚ before his trial begins.This was Msiza's first appearance since he was denied bail on March 17.In her bail ruling‚ Magistrate Kiru Pillay said Msiza‚ 26‚ was likely to abscond trial if released because he had already done so when he was previously charged for minor crimes in 2012.Msiza faces two charges of hijacking and defeating the ends of justice.The pair allegedly got inside Seiphemo’s car when he stopped at traffic lights and forced him to drive towards Mogale City. Seiphemo’s car caused an accident during the hijacking. It collided with another vehicle. Three people‚ including Makunyane‚ died in the accident. Donovan van Zyl‚ 24‚ and Jacobus Coertze‚ 28‚ from Krugersdorp‚ were the two others.Seiphemo was badly injured and is currently recovering at home.-TMG Digital/Sowetan..
