Local rappers AKA and Ma-e released the highly-anticipated music video for their hit collaboration Lie 2 Me on Thursday morning.

Fans have been expecting the music video ever since the pair started releasing behind-the-scenes footage from the video's shoot earlier this week.

And while many thought it would be released by the end of the week, the last thing they probably expected was for the video to drop at the stroke of midnight on a cold Wednesday night.

But fans quickly warmed up the night by setting social media sites alight with news of the video. The video trended for most of the morning following its release, with fans and local hip-hop artists praising it for its incredible visuals. The video also features appearances from Khuli Chana and Ma-E's fellow Cashtime members K.O and Kid X.

Lie 2 Me is the latest single from Ma-E's debut album Township Counsellor which was released last month. The track was produced by Tatenda Kamera and Grammy-Award winning producer Brian Soko (most famous for his work on Beyoncé's Drunk in Love)
