Hip-hop musician and former Bongo Maffin member Speedy has lashed out at haters in the industry calling them jealous and saying that he grew tired of the way he was treated.

In a lengthy Instagram statement Speedy claimed that people were jealous of him and had tried to block him from being a success.

"It's funny how some people get mad when they can't come and live lavish with you. There are people who die inside every time they catch a glimpse of your happiness. There will always be people that try to block or stop your music from being heard, simply because they are scared and never expected you to still be this consistent, it's called jealousy," he wrote.

Speedy, who last released music in 2010, revealed that it took him a long time to produce new material because of how he was treated in the industry.

"One of the reasons I took time to put music out (was) because I got tired of how I got treated. Sometimes all I want to do is just hop on a plane travel/enjoy my money and not deal with this #F*ckery."

Despite the constant backlash Speedy says he has forced himself to remain positive. "Then I remembered all the obstacles I've faced and survived, and I remembered who the f*ck I am and what I've build. The main thing is to never ever stop NO MATTER WHAT."

This is not the first time that Speedy has spoken out about the hate he gets on social media platforms. Last month he was criticised for carrying his signature towel over his shoulder. However, he shot back, calling people "dumb and ignorant."

The rapper is set to release a new EP soon -  a project that he has hinted will be an independent release.
