Actress Brenda Ngxoli has launched a scathing attack on "mediocrity" and "abuse" in the local film industry, saying that she wants to earn her spot in the industry through hard work and not because of who she knows.

Taking to Twitter on Tuesday, the Rockville actress revealed that she has been stung by an industry that, she claims, has come to accept mediocrity.

Brenda says that the problem stems from people who get jobs because of their relationships with producers. She says that many do not speak out because they fear that they will be victimised or sidelined.

In fact, she reveals that she has personally been abused when trying to address the ills in the industry.

It is unclear what caused the rant but now we know not to mess with Brenda.
