Minnie opens up about her love life: There might be 'someone'

Mzansi's sweetheart Minnie Dlamini has been tight-lipped about her love life following the failed romance that she had with Kaizer Chiefs goalkeeper, Itumeleng Khune.

Since her breakup with Itu in 2014, Minnie has been linked to different men - including, Quinton Jones, who works at Urban Brew Studios. But, given how private the TV personality is, it should come as no surprise that she has neither confirmed nor denied the rumours.

However, without divulging a lot of details, Minnie hinted that there may just be a love interest in her life at the moment, during an interview with Gareth Cliff on Cliffcentral recently. "There might be someone,'' she said when asked if she was seeing anyone at the moment. In addition, she revealed that her current beau is someone who she has known for quite a long time.

"Someone who's actually been one of my best friends, and we decided to move from being friends to being lovers." 

She further explained that in addition to his good looks, the unnamed boyfriend allows her "to escape and go home and not just be Minnie Dlamini that everyone expects [Minnie] to be," before conceding that he still needs to treat her "like a queen."

While the new boyfriend hasn't been formally introduced to Minnie's family, she admits that she's afraid whether her dad while like him, suggesting that his opinion is a deal breaker.

"If my dad doesn't like him, that's gonna be a big deal for me. My dad's opinion really counts."

Even though Minnie is in a relationship, she clarified during the interview that her career remains her first priority, above everything else.

"I've made the conscious decision of putting my career first. That is my first love, that is my main priority and my main focus, and everything and anything else comes second," she said.
