A concerned fan this week spotted the fake account, which advertises the services of an agent, and called it out as a "fraud".

The agent then responded to the allegations in a heated post, suggesting that Bonang had in fact shared the information of her own accord.

The problem is that the real Queen B knows nothing about the endorsement. When asked if the page belonged to her, Bonang responded simply by saying: "Nope."

Bonang has not revealed if any action will be will be taking any action against the fake account or advert.

Bonang follows in the footsteps of well-known names such as Basetsana Kumalo and Trevor Noah who have both in recent months been used by fraudsters to promote questionable products online.

The agent, Aiden Abrahams, reached out to TMG Entertainment to explain that he was contacted by the fake account and that he did not solicit any contact from the account.
