It seems that Die Antwoord are going ahead with their plans to perform in Israel next month, despite calls from activists for them to boycott the trip.

The group's planned performance in Israel next month came under the spotlight last week when it emerged that a Palestinian activist group had written an open letter asking them to not perform in Israel.

  • Die Antwoord urged to cancel Israel performanceMembers of the group Die Antwoord have been urged to reconsider a performance scheduled to take place in Israel next month.

In the letter, published on the BDS website, the group asked that Die Antwoord respect an international boycott against Israel.

  • Exclusive: Liesl Laurie bags a gig on JacarandaTMG Entertainment has reliably learnt that former Miss South Africa, Liesl Laurie has landed a job at Jacaranda FM.

"As South Africans, you are aware of our conflicted history when for a very long time the majority of people in this country were mercilessly oppressed and discriminated against simply because of the pigment of skin. However, we are fortunate that that worldview ended in 1994. It was because of the brave and determined efforts of people from all sectors of South African society as well as international support and boycotts that we were able to break free from the shackles of structural and institutionalised racism and oppression, " the letter read.

And while the group have not responded to the letter, as requested, they have made their intentions quite clear through a YouTube video released on Tuesday.

In the video,  Ninja and Yo-landi take turns addressing the camera while announcing: “We are Die Antwoord, we play live in Tel Aviv, Israel, June 8, LIVE Park, June 8, Israel, June 8,” before screaming.
