Adele helps Capetonian couple to feel the love

It's not every day that fans get serenaded by their favourite artist‚ especially not when going down on one knee to propose to their significant other. But this is the exact scenario that played out for Capetonians Ross Levin and Nicholas Markovitz in Barcelona last week‚ when multiple award-winning singer-songwriter Adele welcomed them on stage and shared their moment with them.As Levin proposed‚ Adele belted out “Make You Feel My Love”. Levin said on Sunday evening‚ just an hour after the couple landed back in South Africa‚ that they were “still on cloud nine” thinking about what had happened. After months of planning‚ Levin was able to‚ through correspondence with her management team and “much perseverance”‚ find himself grabbing his partner's hand and being welcomed onto stage at the Barcelona concert. “When she started to sing to us‚ my heart was just absolutely palpitating.I’ve been carrying this for months and I’m not the best at keeping surprises. He didn’t know whether to look at Adele‚ or look at me. I think it was so emotional for both of us‚ having come so far together being able to publicly being able display our love. “We were so caught up in the moment that we almost didn’t recognise the tens of thousands of people around us. We were just hugging each other and dancing while she serenaded us‚” he said. Levin said Markovitz had joked about making mundane proposals‚ including that he would do it while they were brushing their teeth at night. He and Markovitz had been together for four years‚ and had recently joked about getting engaged. Even this kidding around was a big step for Levin‚ who was married with two children before coming out only six years ago. “And once I called him out on it‚ and said yes. But nothing came of it‚ so I knew that I when I did want to make a proposal‚ I wanted it to be a grand gesture that would let him know how serious I was‚” he said. Levin also wanted to make sure that the proposal “would match his large and shining personality”. And that he certainly did‚ and it will be a proposal that will be tough for anyone's friends to follow. – TMG Digital/The Times..
