The Department of Correctional Services has poured cold water on swirling reports, which claim that convicted hip-hop artist Jub Jub was allegedly embroiled in a sparring match at Leeuwkop Prison last week, leaving him with stab wounds on his stomach and thighs.

Speaking to TMG Entertainment on Monday Department of Correctional Services spokesperson, Ofentse Morwane said the allegations were incorrect and extremely misleading.

"Ever since Molemo Maarohanye was incarcerated there's been so many different stories that have emerged about him. Last week there were claims that he was sexually assaulted, this week it's that he has been stabbed but nothing of this sort has happened. There was no fight and he was not stabbed," Morwane said.

Morwane added that the department has noted with concern this continuous repeated lies.

  • Jub Jub to appeal his convictionHip hop artist Molemo “Jub Jub” Maarohanye will appeal his murder conviction in the High Court in Johannesburg on Thursday.

This comes after reports emerged late last week claiming that the rapper was allegedly stabbed and assaulted after an argument broke out between him and another inmate during a soccer tournament that was held in prison.

  • Jub Jub set to be released soon: reportAfter serving four years of his sentence, Jub Jub is set to be up for parole at the end of the year.

"Jub Jub gave his fellow prisoner a parcel to keep for him as he was busy discussing something with other inmates. When Jub Jub asked for the parcel to be handed back to him by a fellow prisoner, an argument ensued," a source apparently told Move! magazine.

The report went on to add that Jub Jub had to be rushed to hospital where he was allegedly treated for his injuries.
