As reported last week by TMG Entertainment, a song praising the SABC's decision to implement a 90% local music quota across its radio stations, has been released.

It was initially speculated that the song had been commissioned by the public broadcaster and that radio stations were forced to air it.

But SABC spokesperson Kaizer Kganyago denied this, saying musicians themselves had decided to produce the song, and that it would be treated as any other local song when getting airplay.

Composed and led by seasoned poet, Mzwakhe Mbuli, the praise song, 'Thank You SABC' aims to celebrate and give thanks to Hlaudi Motsoeneng for instituting the new music airplay format.

Although the video certainly can't be described as a hit, the lyrics have already become a talking point.

"SABC has delivered. We applaud the monumental decision. 90 percent of South African content. 90 percent of better life."
