Lucifer, the hit US TV show which stars SA actress Lesley Ann Brandt, has been nominated for a prestigious American Teen Choice Award.

The second wave of nominations for the awards were released in America last Thursday and see Lesley's show go up against DC's Legends of Tommorow, Quantico, Shadowhunters: The Immortal Instruments, Stitchers and Supergirl in the Choice TV Breakout Award category at the awards.

Lesley was understandably excited about the nomination and took to Instagram to share the good news with her followers.

She has encouraged fans of the show, which was recently renewed for a second season, to vote for it at the awards and to vote for her co-star Tom Elllis in the Choice TV Breakout Star category.

Voting has officially begun for the annual event but is closed to anyone outside of the 50 US states, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands.

The winners will be revealed live during a two-hour ceremony on July 31 in Los Angeles.
