US rapper Lil Wayne is said to be in a stable condition and in "good spirits" after suffering a minor seizure on Monday.

According to TMZ, the rapper was travelling on his private plane from Milwaukee to California when he suffered a seizure that forced the plane to make an emergency landing in Nebraska.

Despite the episode, Lil Wayne refused medical treatment and insisted that the plane take off again.

But only a few minutes later, he suffered a second seizure that left him unconscious and requiring urgent medical attention.

Paramedics then rushed the Young Money rapper to a hospital in the area, where he is said to be recovering well.

"Under the guidance of his own doctors, he is now in stable condition and good spirits. He thanks his fans for their everlasting support, prayers and well wishes," the stars' representative told Billboard in a statement.

This is not the first time that the rapper has suffered a black-out during a flight. In 2012, his private jet made an emergency landing after he suffered a seizure. A similar incident in 2013 nearly proved fatal for the rapper.

Lil Wayne has previously admitted to struggling with seizures and puts the condition down to stress and a lack of sleep.
