DJ Sbu is known from Midrand to Molweni as one of the sharpest entrepreneurs in the country. He works long hours developing and producing work across several platforms, from media to energy drinks.

Talking to TMG Entertainment recently, DJ Sbu said the sacrifices and hard work is well worth it because he is creating a legacy for his daughter.

"She's my best friend and the one person in the world that I work hard for," he revealed.

Reflecting on his dismissal from Metro FM last year, and his subsequent starting of his Mo Faya energy drink, DJ Sbu said that he started his own company so that he could provide a safe future for his daughter.

"I've started my own company so that I don't get fired. So even if I get fired anywhere else, or if I don't make money through my other business ventures, or die tomorrow, then I know that my daughter is set and that's what I've been trying to build. As soon as there is brand loyalty with my products, then I know that my daughter will go to the best schools, even if I die," he said.

He said that he has no choice but to stay focused for the good of his daughter.

  • DJ Sbu: Popping bottles and nice cars mean nothing to me DJ Sbu may have once claimed to be "broke AF" but he says that his wealth is not found in popping bottles and nice cars, but in the people whose lives he's touched.

"I have to stay as focused as possible because it's her future I have to work towards. It's me working towards her legacy. She's the only one I work for, I work for my daughter. All these companies that I am a part of are owned by her trust," he said.
