If you ever wondered where part of AKA's grievances at local artists not being treated the same as touring international acts may have come from, then you might want to sit down: It's story time.

AKA has often spoken out on local artists being "mistreated" when opening for touring international acts. He has even vowed to never again open for an international act because of poor treatment and minimal exposure.

  •

Most fans will remember his rant after being mistreated at the Kendrick Lamar show in 2014, but he revealed on Tuesday that it might have been his experience opening for US act Wale that finally sealed his resolve.

AKA has hinted before about a horrible experience opening for Wale, as if it's a horror movie no one has seen, but he couldn't dare tell. In a lengthy Twitter session this week he finally narrated the tale.

  •

AKA explained that he was billed as the opening act for the show but was mistreated by the organisers, eventually resulting in AKA telling them "to go f*ck themselves" and pulling out of the show.

Here's AKA's story in full:
