Live Amp producer Marvin Cohen is still reeling in shock after surviving a gruesome attack last week which left him with more than 30 stitches.

The alleged incident took place in the parking lot of Montecasino in Johannesburg last Thursday, June 16.

According to Marvin's version of events, he was celebrating a friend's birthday at a nightclub in Montecasino, when he apparently encountered a group of girls who claimed to be uncomfortable with the company they claimed to be drinking with.

Marvin claims that the group of women asked for help in getting their belongings out of the men's car, which he agreed to do.

This is allegedly when things took a turn for the worse.

"I know I should've directed them to security but I agreed to help out. They approached the guys to get their stuff and the guys started becoming aggressive with them, they didn't want them to go anywhere because they had been buying them drinks all night. I stepped in and tried to calm the situation down by telling the two guys to chill, the girls didn't want to leave with them. They then jumped me," Marvin said on social media.

Marvin said that he tried to run but the men caught up with him and beat him “pretty badly” with weapons they had in their possession.

"The guards eventually stepped in and picked me up off of one of the guys I was wrestling with on the ground and put me in the elevator, he said I was cut badly. They took me to the Monte ER area and bandaged me up then called an ambulance to take me to hospital,” he added.

Marvin confirmed the incident to TMG Entertainment explaining that a case of attempted murder has since been opened at the Douglasdale police station with the suspects waiting to appear in court.

He also told TMG Entertainment that the assault left him with three wounds requiring 32 stitches in total, including a neck wound which required 26 stitches.

Marvin also revealed that he chose to speak out about the issue as a call for men to respect women.

“I'm telling this story as a warning to be vigilant about who you drink with and to guys, you can't expect women to sleep/leave with you just because you bought them drinks. We need to start respecting the word NO."
