With just a day to go before the Durban July, celebrities are gearing up for one of the country's biggest horse-racing extravaganzas, taking place at eThekwini's Greyville Racecourse.

More than just a horse race, the annual Durban July is marked as one of the highly-anticipated events on the entertainment calendar.

With the festivities starting today, a number of celebrities, including Bonang Matheba, Lerato Kganyago, Tumi Voster and Noluthando Nqayi have already touched down in the sunny city to join the party revellers.

Bonang has been named as one of the official SABC 3 hosts for the event, alongside Jeannie D, Mika Stefano and Vaylen Kirtley.

Speaking to Daily Sun, Khanyi Mbau revealed that her outfit will undoubtedly make her stand out - as this year's theme is Leading The Pack.

The theme of the event itself gives you an idea. It’s about being a leader, standing out and being the alpha female," she told the local publication.

"The colours will be those of royalty and gambling. The aim is to stand out and lead. My dress will definitely have all those elements," she added.

One of the things to look out for at this year's Durban July is the inaugural launch of a brand new marquee: the Opulence ALL WHITE Marquee Village, which is modelled after the annual ALL WHITE Party hosted by SA’s own ‘God of the North’ Da L.E.S.
