Popular rapper AKA has been dropped from the Hipnotik Music Festival in Swaziland this weekend, following a skirmish with the event's organisers.
AKA, who stole the show at the festival in 2014 was expected to perform at the popular event, but has since been replaced by Nigerian artist Burna Boy.
AKA caused a social media frenzy last week when he took to Twitter to demand that his logo on the festival's flyer be changed or he would not attend.
It seems that the event's organisers weren't too happy with AKA's rant and wanted everyone to know that the festival is bigger than any one artist. They took to Twitter on Wednesday to announce that they had dropped AKA from the festival.
Speaking to Swazi Observer, Swazi Jive Founder and Director Sakhile Nkambule further explained that the artist’s Twitter rant is one of the decisions that led to having him replaced on the line-up.
"We will not take any disrespect from artists, no matter how big they are. The Hipnotik brand is bigger than that right now and we demand the respect we give to our artists. AKA will no longer be performing at the show but we will be bringing Burna Boy to replace him on the line-up," he said.
The issue was brought up by US radio host Sway Calloway, when he interviewed AKA later in the day, but the rapper admitted to not being able to recall it, saying he had got into many Twitter run-ins in the past.
A statement from the organiser also claimed that AKA had "demanded a number of things outside of his contract."
