South African actress Pearl Thusi has been confirmed to have a regular role on the second season of American series Quantico.

News of the Lip Sync Battle Africa host's new gig began to circulate after Quantico lead star Priyanka Chopra shared a season 2 cast members snapshot on her Instagram, with a familiar face spotted among the newest cast.

According to American news site Deadline, Thusi will play the role of Dayana Mampasi: a driven and disciplined type-A lawyer.

Further character description of Thusi's role in the drama series reveals that after graduating top of her class at Harvard, she worked at an NGO for two years before joining her parents’ Boston firm. But though she seems to have it all, Dayana struggles to fit in.

Thusi will next star in the local biopic Kalushi: The Story of Solomon Mahlangu later in the year, directed by Mandla Dube and starring opposite a fresh-faced cast of Thabo Rametsi and Thabo Malema.
