Simba Mhere case postponed for two months

The lawyer for the man accused of killing Top Billing presenter Simba Mhere could not attend court on Friday, causing a two-month postponement in the trial. Preshalin Naidoo appeared briefly at the Randburg Magistrate's Court on Friday before the matter was postponed for two months after the defence lawyer, advocate Francois Roets‚ called in sick.Nadioo is facing two charges of culpable homicide and reckless driving after his car crashed into Mhere's vehicle on William Nicol Drive last year‚ killing Mhere and his friend Kady-Shay O’Bryan.Earlier in the trial‚ the court heard from Dr Candice Hansmeyer‚ a pathologist who conducted a postmortem report on Mhere and O’Bryan and described their injuries.Mhere’s skull and spinal cord were broken. His right arm was also fractured and dislocated‚ whilst O'Bryan sustained blunt force injuries to the head. She also had injuries to the chest‚ brain and ribs. Her right lung was partially torn‚ Hansmeyer told the court.The Mhere family have called on justice to be served with friends of the TV presenter slamming the drawn out court process, saying that Naidoo is using the courts to delay justice. ..
