Former Isidingo star Emmanuel Castis joins popular US soapie

Actor Emmanuel Castis has taken his craft overseas, with a new role on American soapie General Hospital.

The star, who once played the role of Steven on Isidingo, announced his new role in a Twitter post this week.

Emmanuel has spent the last few months in the US, shooting for the day time medical drama. The soapie is one of the most popular shows in the US, and is one of the longest running American soapies still in production.

The announcement comes only days after another local star, Pearl Thusi, officially joined the cast of US drama series Quantico.

Talking about her role, Pearl said that she is proud to be "paving the way for South Africa."

“I have been such a big fan of the show for such a long time and it is a dream come true to be a part of it. I am proud to be paving the way for South Africa and am absolutely thrilled to be joining the extraordinarily talented Quantico team," said Pearl
