Gugu's life was packed with purpose, says his friend Andre Ross

One of Gugu Zulu's best friends has spoken at the rally driver's memorial service, giving a passionate speech at the Kyalami Race Track on Tuesday morning.

Ross described how he was with Zulu as he prepared to propose to his wife Letshego.

"Gugu loves you dearly and I remember carrying your wedding ring around for eight days. Gugu didn't do anything small. I'm not ready to let you go but you lived your life with purpose."

The race track has been filled to capacity as friends and family gathered to bid farewell to the rally driver.

Zulu died last week while climbing Mount Kilimanjaro for a Trek4Mandela expedition.

Letshego Zulu is present at the memorial along with her family.
