WATCH: Gugu Zulu kisses Letshego in the street days before Kilimanjaro

As family and friends prepare to bid farewell to late racing car driver Gugu Zulu, who will be laid to rest on Thursday, a video that was taken just days before he and Letshego has emerged on social media.

The video was taken for the I AM Joburg campaign, which both Gugu and Letshego were involved in.

The aim of the campaign was for people to send clips of themselves depicting why they love Joburg.

Gugu and Letshego who have long since shared a bond that has become the envy of many couples.

And among the thousands of tributes that have inundated social media, the one thing that people remember Gugu for is the way he loved and adored Letshego.

The video, which was taken just days before both Gugu and Letshego left for Mount Kilimanjaro, shows the lovebirds kissing in the street endearingly.

It has also been revealed that the R15 000 prize money that was attached to the competition will be donated to the Gugu Zulu Family Trust.

"We've decided to give the competition's 15k prize money to Gugu's family. Apologies to all who have already entered videos, but this feels like the right thing to do," said Jonathan Boynton-Lee. 

The campaign is the brainchild of Gugu's close friend Stevel Marc and Jonathan.

Gugu who died last Monday while attempting to summit Mount Kilimanjaro will be laid to rest after a funeral service at the Rhema Bible Church on Thursday.
