Nicky Greenwall and her husband, Robin Fryer have released a coffee table book, which includes portraits of local celebrities alongside excerpts of their interviews with Nicky during the filming of her talk show, The Close Up.

Aptly titled, I’m Famous in South Africa, the book features the likes of Loyiso Gola, Jeannie D, Maps Maponyane, Khanyi Mbau, Bonang Matheba, Siv Ngesi, Boity Thulo, Trevor Gumbi, Lee-Ann Liebenberg, Pearl Thusi, DJ Sbu, ProVerb, Terry Pheto, Leon Schuster, Jack Parow, Kabelo Mabalane, Desmond Dube, Kelly Khumalo, DJ Euphonik, AKA, Ross Learmonth from Prime Circle and loads more.

According to Nicky, the book is not only a celebration of South Africa's famous faces, but also serves as a support initiative for a non-profit organisation, Neighbourhood Old Age Homes (or NOAH for short).

"I liked the idea of what they [NOAH] do as an organisation, but I wanted to wait until I had a project that would fit with their cause. When we had the idea to do the book it all came together," Nicky told entertainment blog Media Girl Chronicles.

The information attached to the portraits offers readers a glimpse into the lives of their favourite celebrities.

Some of the stand out quotes from the book:

"I  would rather people hate my guts than, 'oh what do you think of AKA?' ‘Well he’s alright’. I am the most loyal person. If you stood by me then I am with you but people don’t understand that this stuff is pretty lonely." - AKA

"Someone said to me ‘Bonang you are so good that you make it look easy.’ I have auditioned for every single job that I have gotten, I have stood in line. I have filled out an audition form. Every single job that I have, I have actually had to, you know, blood sweat and tears for it." – Bonang Matheba

"There are certain elements of the celeb life that don’t excite me and I realised that actually I don’t have to be in (those) spaces. I am an emotional being. Everything makes me cry. Talking about crying makes me cry."– DJ Zinhle
