In celebration of his 50th birthday, music industry pioneer, Lindelani Mkhize has partnered with Joburg Theatre and ATTV Productions for the inaugural musical production titled, Ignite – an initiative set to kindle the music industry whilst providing world class entertainment.

Taking place from Friday, 2 September to Saturday, 3 September at the Mandela @ Joburg Theatre, the initiative is a two-day production aimed at showcasing South Africa’s undiscovered musical talent across all genres.

"I have always believed that our country is home to an amazing pool of talent and IGNITE is an extension of that belief," said Lindelani in a statement.

"I’m so excited that our partners share my sentiment and through this initiative, we hope to ignite talent and promote a culture of unconventional collaborations. We are creating a platform for undiscovered talent," he added.

Speaking of what viewers can expect, Lindelani promised that the three-hour production will be "rich with colour and flavour coupled with the creative use of the latest technology to enhance the performances," adding that there will also be a six-piece band, brass and a double quartet string section.

While most of the featured talent has been identified by Lindelani, he has left a spot or two open for other hopefuls who will have to try their luck through an online platform.

To enter:

Record a 1-2 minute short video clip showcasing your music talent, post it on the ‘Lindelani Presents’ page on Facebook and Instagram. The competition is open to all genres of music (Gospel, Hip Hop, Kwaito and R&B).

Tickets to the two-day run are available for R180 to R400 each.
