Behind the scenes on Vuyo Dabula's new film

Vuyo Dabula will soon be gracing the local box office as a cowboy called Tau in his new film, Five Fingers of Marseille.

The film, a township-based western, will also feature the likes of Kenneth Fok, Jerry Mofokeng, Mduduzi Mabaso, Thishiwe Ziqubu and veteran actor Kenneth Nkosi.

According to the cast's posts, the film is currently being filmed in the sleepy town of Lady Grey in the Eastern Cape, and is being shot in "local languages" according film site Screen Anarachy.

The film has already garnered international attention, with a recent feature on the flick appearing on popular US Entertainment publication, Variety.

The film's IMDB page explains the film's synopsis as: "Lives change forever when Tau, the young lion, kills two corrupt policemen in a South African shanty town."

The film will be directed by Michael Matthews and, according to the film's official Facebook page, it is set for release in early 2017.
