Oh, wow! Just when we thought that Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez had finally moved on from their highly-publicised relationship, the pair once again dragged their romance into the spotlight during a heated social media argument on Monday.

The pair were involved in a war of words after Justin had threatened to leave social media over the abuse his followers had been giving his rumoured new girlfriend Sofia Richie.

In an emotional Instagram pos, the Sorry star said: "I'm gonna make my Instagram private if you guys don't stop the hate this is getting out of hand, if you guys are really fans you wouldn't be so mean to people that I like."

And while that was enough to stop some followers, it didn't prevent Justin's ex Selena from taking to the comments section to take a jab at the star, suggesting that he keep his relationships private.

"If you can’t handle the hate then stop posting pictures of your girlfriend lol—it should be special between you two only. Don’t be mad at your fans. They love you," she wrote. Only for Justin to reply with his own jab.

"It’s funny to see people that used me for attention and still try to point the finger this way. Sad. All love," he wrote.

But things only went south from that point, and soon the couple were apparently hanging the dirty laundry of their relationship out for all the neighbours to see. And of course it involved loads of cheating allegations.

"Funny how the ones that cheated multiple times, are pointing the finger at the ones that were forgiving and supportive, no wonder fans are mad. Sad. All Love," Selena is reported to have written in a comment section that now hosts nearly half a million comments.

Their exchange, including an apparent response where Justin seemed to suggest that Selena had cheated on him with Zayn Malik, were posted by fans on Twitter who shared them as part of a #SelenaEndedJustinParty trend.
