It has been confirmed that Pearl Thusi will no longer be returning to Metro FM, after landing a new role on US drama series Quantico, alongside Priyanka Chopra.

Speaking to Sowetan, Sarit Tomlinson, managing director of Capacity Relations, which represents Pearl, confirmed the news, adding that it is highly unlikely that Pearl will return to South Africa this year.

"She's no longer there (at Metro FM). She's going to be in New York for a while, she definitely won't be back this year," she told the local publication.

Pearl had been dropping hints that she won't be returning to the station, when she spoke to  U.S beauty and lifestyle publication Hello Beautiful about her future in America.

Reading out a tweet from a fan on the show who said "Pearl come back. You are so beautiful," the actress responded "I ain't coming back, girl. What! No, look. I'll come visit. If I have to come back home there's a part of me that's going to feel like I really didn't conquer. "

A week later, Pearl's co-host Phat Joe announced his resignation from his much-publicised gig on Metro FM in favour of a new hosting opportunity on KwaZulu-Natal’s commercial radio station East Coast Radio.

He serves as the host of the daily afternoon drive show weekdays, on air from 3pm to 6pm.
