DJ Tira has responded to accusations levelled against him by Durban tycoon Nana Zondi - who is asserting that she discovered Babes Wodumo's - labelling her claims as "selfish" and "short-sighted."

This comes after Nana told Sunday Sun that she discovered the Wololo hit maker in 2013 when she casted her as one of the dancers on Big Nuz's Hawaii music video amid reports claiming that Tira is responsible for Babes' rising success.

  •

"Anyone in the know knows I chose Babes Wodumo, along with 10 other dancers from this public audition, and I used to get her gigs around Durban," she told the local publication, after accusing Tira of often taking credit where it is most certainly not due.

"I cannot be referred to as an agent in interviews instead of the one who saw potential in her and gave her a platform and chance to meet DJ Tira and Mampintsha."

  •

Not taking these claims and accusations lying down, DJ Tira, on Monday, questioned Nana's idea of "discovering new talent," adding that her "stance is not only selfish but very short-sighted at the very same time."

"Thank you Nana Zondi for discovering Babes Wodumo. Yes, you brought her to the Hawaii video shoot to be a part of the ladies chosen to feature in the video and that's about it!!! So, I guess that's your idea of discovering new talent?" he wrote on his Instagram page.

Tira went on to lash out at Nana's questioning what discovering an artist means.

"This then means that all Mampintsha's sleepless nights in the studio converting Babes Wodumo from 'model' to a musician was for nothing because according to you discovering an artist takes introducing them to the relevant people. Your stance is not only selfish but very short-sighted at the very same time."

Tira further suggested that if Nana wanted recognition for the role she played in Babes' career, then she should have called the singer to "find out if they appreciate [her] mini effort in the role [she] played as a model agent."

"With that said all the best with discovering more musicians," he added.

Babes Wodumo, who is signed to Mampintsha's West Ink Records, rose to mammoth fame with her latest hit single, Wololo.
