EFF's Julius Malema and Mbuyiseni Ndlozi, on Tuesday afternoon, referred to Malusi Gigaba as the "Minister of Instagram" during a parliamentary post-election debate.

And subsequently, this elicited Twitter reactions which simply begged the question: Who is the real Minister of Instagram between Malusi, and the ever so popular Fikile Mbalula?

Fikile, is by far the most active South African minister on social media. His acute understanding of the "cool kids" language and a keen interest in pop culture has earned him a number of titles from 'Minister of Fun' and 'Minister of Beyoncé,' to 'Minister of Twitter.'

However, one thing he has rarely been called is "Minister of Instagram," despite his huge following and constant engagement.

Which got us thinking if he were not a better candidate for the position, as opposed to Malusi Gigaba, who was given the title by EFF's leaders.

Followers: Fikile wins!

While Malusi boasts more than 96 000 followers on Instagram, Fikile's 339 000 followers proves he's more popular on the social media platform. However, it must be noted that Malusi only follows 398 accounts. Maybe that's counts for something, but we're afraid Fikile still wins.

Who posts regularly? Fikile is obsessed with Instagram!

As it stands, Fikile has more than 2000 posts on his page, while Malusi seems to shy away with just under 900 posts.

The best "dabbing" snap?

Fierce selfie game? Fikile holds it down

Instagram is all about selfies. Therefore, it's very necessary for the Minister of Instagram to have mastered the art. And it seems Fikile, knows all about that. But we must admit, Malusi also has some fierce selfie game.

#OOTD? Malusi takes the crown

Lastly, a Minister of Instagram needs to be able to show off their Outfit Of The Day (OOTD). Something that Malusi sure knows how to do.
